Roofing Jobs

There are a number of roofing jobs you might apply for once you've completed your roofing apprenticeship. Generally, the title remains "roofer," however, the job you actually perform tends to vary according to whom you're employed by.

If you are employed by a residential building developer, you may be constructing roofs for apartments, condos, etc. The amount of work you get will depend on how much development your employer does.

If you work for a building construction firm, the work you get may be widely varied and require a vast base of training beyond that provided in your roofing apprenticeship.

If you are employed by a construction contractor, you may find yourself working a variety of jobs subsumed under the term construction. If you consider yourself a jack-of-all-trades, this may be the perfect opportunity for you.

In any of these jobs, there are unions you might join for worker solidarity, wage fairness, and benefits.
