Tin Roofing

Tin Roofing

Tin roofing is fantastic for its numerous references in American cultural texts!

For instance, you may have heard of the Tennessee Williams play Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. The play is an American classic, perhaps for the message of tenacity and perseverance suggested by the titular scene in which Maggie ventures that the "victory of a cat on a hot tin roof" is "to stay on...as long as she can."

You may also remember the B-52's song "Love Shack." In one of its definitive moments, a female singer cries, almost unintelligibly, "Tin roof...rusted." Though the utterance only marginally enhances our understanding of the "Love Shack," it embodies the kind of vivacious originality that the B-52's injected into pop culture during their tenure in the '80s.
